This mixart was created for big Van Halen fans (there's no Hits in the mix).

So here we go... I thought it was over with the Van Halen mixes, but when new ideas pass throught my mind, I got to let 'em go and share, so....

5 years after I've composed the first 3 Van Halen mixes..., I give you...

Roland Chayer - Van Halen Mix 04

I love you all more than anything in the world.

Wow this is pretty cool Roland. These mixes must be a labor of love for you. I'm having a huge party in a few weeks and I have to tell you that your mixes are always a hit at these parties. This is going to be an awesome addition to what you've already provided me.
Thanks for sharing this and all the best to you.

Interesting, with the "no hits" concept. Although for that you could have just posted the "Van Halen III" album! hahaha.

This is definitely one hard rockin' mix. Thanks so much Roland! You've done it again! RolandChayer-ThankYouSmiley.gif RolandChayer-VHRocksSmileys.gif

Wow, it's been a LONG time Roland!

I am sitting here listening to the new VH mixes, 04 and 05 and again it's pure genius! I honestly think the last minute or so on #4 is so incredibly amazing, i don't know how they aren't hiring you to produce for them!

I am also listening to the classic rock mixes and i cant wait to burn them all-it'll be all i leave in the car!

I hope you're doing well Roland, glad to see you are still doing what you are obviously meant to be doing!

RolandChayer-ThankYouSmiley.gif Frank..., yes I haven't seen you since the release of Classic Rock Mix 01 in May of 2007. You will like the Classic Rock Mixes 'cause there's plenty of Van Halen arrangements and solos in them. let me know what are your favorites.

If I would engineer Van Halen (give a hear and ideas), first thing, I would try to convince Eddie to change that annoying over mid-frequencies boosted shit sound that he's using since 1998. No problem with Alex..., I would explore Wolfgang's voice to make songs with plenty of solid background vocals. RolandChayer-SmokinSmiley.gif

Roland, i have listened to all of the new VH mixes and the classic rock mixes and honestly, they are truly REMARKABLE! You have a God-given gift and you use it!
So far my favorite classic rock mix is the one that starts with the voice "It's show time!" Sounds like something from Catholic Girls by Zappa when the priest is speaking at the end ..anyway, the guitar part kicks off and it's unreal! Who is that from?
That mix is so incredible.

Also, the mix with Janis Joplin and how you create a different melody to go with her melody is ingenious, but you have that ear and the ability to know what to mix in..it's uncanny!

Of course, i love the VH mixes..no. 4 at the end..the outro sequence of dark VH is almost like an epitaph and celebration of who Eddie was when he was at the top..it is again truly like listening to new VH.In mix 5, you bring a playful, new sound to Ed's music, again like it's brand new VH. None of us can thank you enough for the mixes you give to us..it's all i listen to in my car--your mixes!

im going to go search your site to see if i missed any Roland original music releases...

I hope you are well Roland. My life has become a complete mess, but that's another tale for another forum/time.

I'm telling you straight up that if they had you engineer new music you would rescue their career and send them to the top of the Rock world as relevant again! serious.
I also agree with what you say about Ed and the mid-range love he fell into..i'd throw away that damn guitar as well, even though it's a good instrument. I'd have him make another guitar from scratch himself, single humbucker and get down!

For Alex, all i would say is less ismore...when he gives steady, heavy rythmns, its all that is needed and it's so unique to his sound and the band, you could build a mountain with that as the bedrock.

Have you ever thrown your name in the ring with Jani or anyone in the VH camp to do anything with them? I'd highly suggest it and i'd inundate them, if needed, as well with referrals from me and others to bring you on..i'd play the mixes..pieces of them and sequences so they could hear you actually have retained the true feel of their 9Ed's) musical expression style in any type he wants to play..you would keep it true and new!

Thanks for those two great posts. You make me feel good. RolandChayer-ThankYouSmiley.gif

In "Classic Rock Mix 07", that "It's Showtime" (that I've modified to sound like a serial killer on the phone RolandChayer-CoolLaughingSmiley.gif ) ..., is David Lee Roth..., the guitar is from Ratt, the drums and bass are from two different Van Halen songs.

I've sent to you a private message on Facebook last week, check it out. RolandChayer-HappyMusicSmiley.gif

By the way, I can't record (or re-record my music 'cause I lost everything), both my hands are numb due to MS..., 'still no stable girlfriend, so my life's a mess too.
